الفنان التشكيلى النيجيرى Silas Adelanke Adeoye ،يهوى الرسم والموسيقى ،يقوم بتأليف بعض المقطوعات الموسيقية ، يهوى الاستماع إلى الموسيقى الكلاسيكية ،عاشق لوطنه يناقش قضايا وطنه من خلال رسوماته ، تطور الفن النيجيري كثيرا فى الأونة الأخيرة، ويحاول فنانو نيجيريا تغيير الصورة النمطية التي اختصرت الفن الأفريقي عامة في الفن الفطري والوجوه الأفريقية المنحوتة في الخشب، في حين أننا أصبح نرى اتجاهات تشكيلية معاصرة وأفكار تعالج القضايا المحلية بأساليب تمزج بين ارتباط الرؤية بأفريقيا ولا تبتعد كثيرًا عن الأساليب الحديثة.

Silas Adelanke Adeoye is a Nigerian artist and his works represent a continuation in the tradition of Yoruba art, as shown by his choice of pigment to suit each motif. Art, in the old Yoruba setting, was generally restricted to the courts of the kings and chiefs, and to religious houses. Silas believes that it is the responsibility of the modern artist to extend the enjoyment of this form of expression to the people in manner that music and poetry are today. This piece deducts the idea of a ‘True Leader’ – these days, we have people in leadership positions, but we are in dearth of true leaders. A true leader provides food, quality education, direction, and inspiration to improve the world around him and his subjects. He is selfless and generous. He is concerned about the welfare of his people. The central figure in the painting represents a true leader, standing equal with his subjects. He inspires love, courage, unity, equality and devotion .
